firas Australia is owned by Bodycote Warringtonfire (Aus) Pty Ltd which is a leading provider of professional fire related services in Australia since 1991 and is a Bodycote [Materials Testing, Engineering and Technology] Company - an international company and one of the world's leading independent organisations specialising in fire testing, fire research and fire safety engineering firas Australia is a certification scheme for companies installing fire protection products and systems. If fire protection systems are not suitable for the application or are not installed properly they may fail in the event of a fire possibly leading to fire spread, premature collapse of the building and loss of life. No matter how good a product is, poorly installed its fire protection performance can be severely reduced. The firas Australia scheme involves assessment of the installer company, competence assessment of its site workforce and regular, random inspection of actual contract work being undertaken. Training delivered by RTOs to meet the ANTA competencies and aspects of firas Australia competency assessment will be recognised.
